Ron Johnson is a seasoned venture capital associate and strategic advisor with over 30 years of experience helping early-stage companies validate their business models, scale rapidly, and achieve high-return exits. His work spans multiple sectors, including SaaS, software, biotechnology, defense, medical devices, manufacturing, and real estate technology.
Throughout his career, Mr. Johnson has worked closely with venture capital firms and angel investors to de-risk investments by rigorously assessing startup financial models, operating strategies, and capital requirements. His core strength lies in translating founder vision into investor-aligned growth maps, enabling companies to accelerate development while maximizing their valuation. He specializes in preparing startups for funding rounds, structuring scalable business operations, and designing exit strategies that align with investor return expectations.
Mr. Johnson served as Managing Partner of Silicon Valley Consulting Group, where he was advising numerous venture-funded startups—including Amazon.com, Intuit, Sun Microsystems, The Gap, Ford Motor Company, and Cyan Software—on financial planning, growth strategy, and investor engagement. The firm has become a trusted resource for VC firms seeking third-party validation of portfolio company business models prior to capital deployment. Mr, Johnson’s planning technique was instrumental in raising $1.3 billion in early financing rounds.
As a former Principal at Allison Johnson Venture Partners, a Pacific Northwest-based seed-stage investment and advisory firm, he conducted entrance interviews with hundreds of startups, assessed their viability, and helped position them for venture funding. He also served as a Principal at BioGenetic Ventures, a life sciences investment banking firm specializing in technology transfer, M&A, and early-stage capital sourcing for biotech companies. While at BioGenetic Ventures, Mr. Johnson was a co-developer of the rNPV valuation technology, the current leading method for valuing drugs in the development pipeline.
In addition to his private-sector roles, Mr. Johnson has made significant contributions to academia and economic development. He is an advisor to the Washington State University GAP Fund and a former adjunct professor in the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Gonzaga University, and a former board member at The Enterprise Network (TEN) and the AMES Commercialization Center in San Jose, California.

Mr. Johnson earned his MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and holds a BS in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
